The
education wing of the National Museum is headed by a Keeper
who looks after all the educational services. While the free
guided tours five times a day, screening of educational/art
films on art and culture, weekly gallery talks, guidance to
the school children and groups of students have become common
features, the unit has also started organising seminars, workshops
and symposiums for the scholars and academicians.
Special
guided tours, illustrated lectures of prominent scholars,
and programme for the handicapped children are also arranged
from time to time. In addition, a summer course for the school
children in Hindi and English has become quite popular. So
far, twenty-six short-term in service courses in Museology
have been organised. It also plans to bring out useful activity
books with a view to inculcate the understanding of rich cultural
heritage in a wider section of the society.
