Theme: Evolution and development of Indian temple Architecture

Objectives of the course: Indian Culture is reflected through art and architecture. Since architecture is mother of all visual arts, every aspect and forms of socio-cultural life is gleaned through temple architecture.

Learning outcomes: The course helps in better understanding of Tangible Cultural heritage. The motive and cultural values ingrained in the construction of such marvelous edifices will be understood. One can identify the styles of Temple architecture by taking up this course

Course conducted by: Dr. Prof ChoodamaniNandagopal, Art Historian, UNESCO Fellow and presently a Tagore National Fellow at National Museum. She is internationally known for her contribution in Indian Cultural Heritage, conducted intensive course on Indian Temple Architecture for the students of US, UK, Portuguese and Sri Lankan universities, also workshop for the students of architecture in Indian Universities.She has delivered public lectures on Symbolism of Sacred Space in Indian architecture at JnanaPravahaVaranasi, IGNCA Regional Centre Pondicherry and ASI Head Quarters Delhi.

Duration of Course: 4 Days (19th November 2019 to 22nd November 2019)

Timings: 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm

Minimum Eligibility Criteria: 20 years and above can apply for the course.

Total number of seats: 35 only

Certificates: Certificate would be given against 100 percent attendance only.
