For
maintaining the public relations with a large variety of visitors,
the museum has a separate unit headed by a Keeper. Besides providing
general information about the museum, it maintains correspondence
with scholars, private and public institutions, educationists,
general public and guides the visitor in almost all respects.
Ind addition to training opportunities, permission to photograph
the objects, access to the reserve collection and library, it
offers advice on identification of works of art owned by individuals
and institutions, and guidance to the school children for preparation
of their projects relating to various topics on Indian arts.
Besides selling replicas of masterpieces cast in fibre glass
and plaster of paris, a variety of museum publications such
as catalogues, delux publications, picture post cards, guide
books, gallery sheets, colour slides, reproductions of paintings
etc., are provided for sale at reasonable prices. It also provides
admission tickets to the visitors and collects camera fee.
